‘The Iron Claw’ depicts a beautiful story of three Von Erich brothers who grew apart with time. The former tag team champions showcased their fame and fall with a span of 132 minutes and garnered huge love from fans. The priceless era of WWE in the 1970s was brought back with emotions, ambition, and life-changing moments in the history of wrestling.
Since the movie got a lot of love; fans have been waiting for the movie to at least reach nominations for the Oscars. To our dismay, the movie was not even considered in the run for the Oscars.
The Iron Claw Plot
The movie starring Zach Efron, talks about three Von Erich brothers whose life changes completely after they become wrestlers. As the story moves forward, the family gets power, money, and fame but the essence of living is somewhere lost. Even the family has everything but the slightest joys of life are missing.
Towards the end of the movie, the Von Erich brothers find peace by retiring from wrestling and keeping their brother’s memory and their golden childhood memories with him. The movie is based on the real life of the Von Erich brothers whose family curse changes their whole life.
The movie got an IMDB rating of 4 stars out of 5 and 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it close to Oscar nominations but it isn’t the case.
Fans are DISAPPOINTED of the Oscar nominations
After such positive reviews from fans and critics; the viewers seemed unhappy that the movie was not considered for Oscars. A fan wrote-
‘The Iron Claw not getting a single nomination is going in the Hall of Fame of dumb fucking decisions made by the Academy.’ Another fan wrote,’how did the iron claw not get nominated for a single oscar after THIS?.’ A fan commented,’just finished watching the iron claw, im so fucking pissed a24 didn’t push this movie for the oscars, i will get zac efron that oscar myself if i have to.’ Another fan commented,’Rewatched THE IRON CLAW.
