One of the most loved movies of 2009 Avatar has raised the bar for filmmakers. The storyline and the direction of James Cameron have become the highest-grosser of the century to date. The movie recently had a sequel and again proved that magic happens only in James Cameron movies.
With the prequel and sequel of the movie, fans now wish that soon the third and fourth installments to the Avatar franchise should be announced. The threequel to the movie is in development but the dates have been pushed forward.
Jake Sully aka Sam Worthington Promises fans for the two installments
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the Avatar actor told the magazine that they are back with the shooting for the Avatar 3 in the coming months. He said-
“We go back to work on it in a month and it’s big. It’s bigger than you can imagine.”

Even the director of the movie told the magazine that the movie is right on track but the initial release for the movie was slated for 2024, December 19 but now it has been pushed to next year in 2025, the same month. The last movie of the franchise will be released in 2029.
He said- “We see them and then we go away for six years and we come back…And so the part where we come back is the part we haven’t shot yet. So we’ll start on that after three is released.”
Kate Winslet has also been finalized for the third movie as Ronal. She has also taken classes for her role as a shaman technique in her next movie. Both the parts are available on Disney+.
Avatar Franchise: What We Know So Far
In the first movie, Jake takes a journey from Earth to another planet for a project. His twin brother died abruptly and he was brought onboard. As he learns the ways of the Na’vi tribe, he comes to know that the humans are trying to invade their place. A war happens and Jake starts to live with with his adopted family and loves Neytiri.

In the second movie, Jake and Neytiri have 4 kids and they are again thrown out of their land but when the humans try to invade other parts of Pandora, they fight back again.
